What is your favourite destination within Victoria and why?
Published 1 year, 1 month ago in My life.Today we drove to the Twelve Apostles and back to Melbourne again. We decided to drive along the Great Ocean Road and stop every so often at the attractions along the way. The kids were great even though the three y.o. asked about a thousand and one questions. We had a great time that we have decided to do more day trips especially with the good weather on the way.
Anyway, my question is this, what is your favourite destination within Victoria and why?

Mine is Port Fairy. Its located about 20mins west of Warranmbol ( sorry if I have spelt this wrong ). We go about 4-5 times a year and always in the off peak times. i love close knit feeling and the relax atmosphere. I love the beach in summer time and the Merrijig is the best place to eat. We are going again for 4 days tomorrow. It is a nice slice of VIC that feels very much un touched.
I love Port Fairy. The beaches and port are just beautiful. I lived there for a few years and love getting back there.
to sandra give the big fella tours australia a call as his company gives out all those types of imformation for familys as well as free things all based on a day out on this web site under tours one or big fella &the convicts
Walhalla, the last place in Victoria to get electricity. It has a great pub and it is very quiet!
Mt Dandenong would have to be one of my favorites. It has Sherbrooke forest, where you can bush walk for miles. The 1,000 steps and afterwards one tree hill. A killer of a climb for the moderatly unfit, but heaps of fun for the kids and fitness freaks. There is the kerosene tin house. William Rickets sanctuary, Nicholas gardens, which is just one out of many, plus picnic places with parrots flying down to join you, etc etc……..It is endless, and breathtaking at times.
visiting san remo down phillip island here you can see the pelicans feed at 11-30 each day free b.b.q.s toilets close and play ground all by the sea just a nother show from the convicts over the fence t.v.show
garden hill, kangaroo ground. you get a great view of the city, you can picnic on a hill that has been picnic’d on for a hundred years and you can climb the fire watch tower and see 40 miles in every direction. and its free. big plus where dave is concerned.
This is my second reply, first one got lost. I love the great ocean rd. I used to live in Port Fairy so its my favourate place to go to for a holiday. Its such a beautiful small town, with great beaches and a walk along the port is well worth it on a nice sunny day.
I also love Ballarat with all the old buildings. Lake Windoree has no water in it but a great kids play ground if your looking for somewhere to take the kids.
maybe you could have a treasure hunt for the lost nook posts whilst your tripping about. I posted a fairly lenghy slant on my idea of tourism……….disappeared !
